Two-factor sign-in
Ask for a code from an authenticator app each time you sign in, and keep recovery codes in case you lose your phone.
With two-factor sign-in on, Plotter asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app after your emailed link, Google or Apple. Reviewers never need it.
Turn it on
- Open your account (your photo or initials at the bottom of the rail) and choose Account settings. It opens on Profile.
- Choose Turn on next to Two-factor sign-in.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as 1Password, Google Authenticator or Authy, or type the key into it by hand.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows for Plotter and choose Turn on.
- Save your recovery codes. You get 10. Choose Download or Copy and keep them somewhere safe; this is the only time they're shown. Then choose I've saved them.
Plotter emails you when two-factor sign-in is turned on or off.
Signing in
After the email link, Google or Apple, enter the code from your app. If you can't use your app, choose Use a recovery code and enter one of the codes you saved. Each recovery code works once, and Plotter emails you when one is used. After you sign in with a recovery code, Profile reminds you to make new ones if 3 or fewer are left.
New recovery codes
Choose New recovery codes in Profile and enter a code from your app. You get 10 new codes, the old ones stop working, and Plotter emails you to say so.
Turn it off
Choose Turn off in Profile and enter a code from your app, or a recovery code. If a team you're in requires two-factor sign-in, you can't turn it off. See Team security.
